Carbon-Filled PTFE Ring is a precision-machined component made from PTFE modified with carbon filler to improve wear resistance, dimensional stability, and resistance to deformation under load.
JAIFUXIN manufactures carbon-filled PTFE rings in different carbon-filled formulations, including 25% carbon-filled PTFE, depending on the application and material requirements. Rings can be machined to custom inside diameter (ID), outside diameter (OD), thickness, cross-section, grooves, and other dimensions according to drawings or samples.
These rings are commonly used as seal rings, guide rings, wear rings, and other sliding or supporting components in pumps, valves, hydraulic equipment, chemical-processing machinery, and industrial assemblies.

Why Use Carbon-Filled PTFE?
Virgin PTFE offers excellent chemical resistance and very low friction, but its wear resistance and dimensional stability can be limiting factors in some mechanically loaded applications.
Carbon filler is used to modify these properties. Depending on the formulation, carbon-filled PTFE can provide:
- Improved wear resistance
- Better dimensional stability
- Improved creep resistance
- Reduced deformation under sustained load
- Low friction
- Better performance in certain sliding applications
The appropriate carbon content should be selected according to the component function and operating conditions rather than assuming one formulation is suitable for every application.
25% Carbon-Filled PTFE Option
25% carbon-filled PTFE is one of the available material options for custom rings.
It can be considered for applications requiring improved wear and mechanical performance compared with virgin PTFE. However, filler content should be selected according to the actual operating conditions, including load, movement, mating surface, temperature, pressure, and process medium.
If a customer’s drawing already specifies 25% carbon-filled PTFE, JAIFUXIN can manufacture the ring to that material requirement.
Other carbon-filled formulations can also be evaluated according to the application.
Typical Applications
Depending on the ring geometry and installation position, carbon-filled PTFE rings can be used as:
- Seal rings
- Wear rings
- Guide rings
- Backup rings
- Bearing rings
- Pump components
- Valve components
- Piston and shaft components
- Hydraulic components
- Sliding components
The function of the ring should be confirmed before selecting the material formulation and dimensions.
Carbon-Filled PTFE Seal Rings
A Carbon-Filled PTFE Seal Ring can be used where a PTFE-based sealing material requires better wear resistance or dimensional stability than virgin PTFE.
Applications may include pumps, valves, shafts, pistons, and other static or dynamic sealing assemblies.
For a seal ring, material selection should consider:
- Static or dynamic service
- Rotary or reciprocating movement
- Operating pressure
- Temperature
- Process medium
- Mating surface
- Groove dimensions
For replacement parts, providing the original drawing or sample is recommended.
