Etched PTFE Sheet

JAIFUXIN supplies one-side and two-side etched PTFE sheets from 0.2 to 6 mm thick for bonding PTFE to metal, rubber, composite materials and other substrates.

Untreated PTFE has very low surface energy and is difficult to bond with conventional adhesives. Chemical etching modifies the selected surface and improves its ability to accept an adhesive or laminated backing.

The untreated side retains the normal PTFE surface, while the etched side has a visibly different brown or tan appearance.

Exact surface treatment, storage and packaging requirements should be confirmed before production.

One-Side Etched PTFE Sheet

One-side etched sheet is used when one surface must be bonded while the opposite surface retains the low-friction, non-stick and chemical-resistant characteristics of untreated PTFE.

Typical uses include:

  • Bonded tank linings
  • Pipe linings
  • Slide surfaces
  • Wear pads
  • Rubber-backed seals
  • Metal-backed PTFE components

Two-Side Etched PTFE Sheet

Two-side etched sheet is selected when both surfaces require bonding, lamination or coating.

Typical uses include:

  • Multilayer laminates
  • Composite gasket structures
  • Sandwich panels
  • Double-sided adhesive assemblies
  • Encapsulated barrier layers

Handling and Storage

Etched surfaces should be kept clean and protected from contamination. Oil, dust, moisture and repeated handling can affect bonding results.

Store the material in its protective packaging and avoid touching the treated surface. Adhesive selection and bonding conditions should be verified with trial samples before production.
