Modified PTFE Sheet

JAIFUXIN manufactures modified PTFE sheets for sealing, lining and machined applications that require the chemical resistance of PTFE with improved performance under pressure or sustained load.

Modified PTFE uses a controlled polymer modification rather than a conventional glass, carbon or bronze filler. Depending on the selected grade, the material may provide reduced deformation, lower permeability or improved dimensional stability compared with standard virgin PTFE.

Sheets are available in molded, skived and cut-to-size formats.

  • Machined sealing rings
  • Custom components exposed to sustained load

Modified PTFE vs. Virgin PTFE

Comparison Modified PTFE Virgin PTFE
Chemical Resistance Broad, grade-dependent Broad
Deformation Under Load Generally reduced Higher
Permeability Can be lower Standard PTFE level
Electrical Properties Grade-dependent Preferred for general insulation
Primary Use Demanding seals and linings General chemical and electrical applications

Selection Information

Provide the operating pressure, temperature, chemical media, sealing load and required service life. “Modified PTFE” is not one universal formulation, so the exact grade must be identified during quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is modified PTFE the same as filled PTFE?

No. Modified PTFE changes the PTFE polymer structure or formulation. Filled PTFE contains reinforcing materials such as glass, carbon, graphite or bronze.

Can modified PTFE sheet be used for gaskets?

Yes. It is commonly considered where reduced creep, lower permeability or improved sealing stability is required.

Can custom gaskets be produced?

Yes. Sheets can be cut or machined into gaskets according to flange dimensions and drawings.
