PTFE Pulley is a machined pulley made from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) for guiding wire, cord, rope, tubing, or other moving materials where low friction, chemical resistance, electrical insulation, or a non-metallic contact surface is required.

JAIFUXIN manufactures custom PTFE pulleys according to drawings and dimensional requirements. Pulley outside diameter, width, bore diameter, groove profile, groove depth, and hub structure can be machined to fit the shaft and the material being guided.

PTFE pulleys are used in chemical equipment, electrical systems, laboratory equipment, wire and cable handling, and other machinery where conventional metal pulleys may not be suitable.

Why Use PTFE for a Pulley?

PTFE has a very low coefficient of friction and a naturally low-adhesion surface. These properties make it useful for guide pulleys and rollers where the moving material should pass over the contact surface with minimal friction.

PTFE also provides:

  • Excellent resistance to many chemicals
  • Low-friction contact surface
  • Non-stick characteristics
  • Excellent electrical insulation
  • Very low moisture absorption
  • No rust or metal corrosion
  • Non-metallic contact with the guided material

PTFE is not selected for maximum mechanical strength. For applications involving high loads, high rotational speeds, or significant impact, the pulley design and material should be evaluated against the actual operating conditions.

Custom Pulley Groove Profiles

The groove is one of the most important dimensions of a PTFE pulley because it determines how the wire, rope, cord, tube, or other material is guided.

JAIFUXIN can machine different groove profiles according to the mating material.

U-Groove PTFE Pulley

A U-groove PTFE pulley provides a rounded contact area and can be manufactured to match the diameter of wire, cord, tubing, or other round materials.

The groove width, depth, and radius can be specified according to the application.

V-Groove PTFE Pulley

A V-groove PTFE pulley can be used where the pulley needs to guide or locate a compatible belt, cord, or other moving component.

The groove angle, width, and depth should be defined by the mating part rather than using a generic groove specification.

Custom Groove

Special groove profiles can be CNC machined when standard U- or V-grooves do not match the application.

For custom designs, provide the groove cross-section or mating material dimensions on the drawing.
