Send the required grade, dimensions, tolerance, quantity, operating temperature, chemical media, mechanical load, documentation and delivery destination. Photos or drawings help prevent quotation assumptions.
Custom dimensions and secondary processing can be reviewed from a drawing, sample or application specification. Feasibility depends on the material, production method, tolerance and order volume.
Rod and bar are often used interchangeably for round stock. The purchase specification should define diameter, length, straightness, ovality, grade and machining allowance.

Compare unfilled and reinforced grades against load, speed, counterface, lubrication, temperature and chemical media. A stronger grade is not automatically the best option for every bearing or seal.
