Industry overview

Materials Selected Around Real Service Conditions

Chemical-processing equipment exposes polymers to concentrated acids, alkalis, oxidizers, solvents, pressure, vacuum and temperature cycling. A material that performs well at room temperature may behave differently when concentration, mechanical stress or permeation is introduced.

JAIFUXIN supplies PTFE, PFA, FEP, PVDF and reinforced grades as tubing, sheets, rods, films, gaskets, seals, tanks and machined components. Selection support starts with the complete service conditions so the material, grade, product form and manufacturing route can be compared together.

Engineering priorities

Application Challenges to Define First

These factors guide the material, grade, product form, manufacturing process and inspection plan.

01

Chemical Compatibility

Check the exact chemical, concentration, temperature, exposure time and possible mixtures or cleaning cycles.

02

Pressure and Permeation

Account for pressure, vacuum, wall thickness, gas or vapor permeation and temperature-related derating.

03

Sealing Reliability

Match gasket and seal grade to flange condition, bolt load, motion, creep, pressure and media.

04

Fabrication Method

Choose machining, lining, extrusion, welding or combined fabrication according to geometry and material behavior.

Frequently asked questions

Chemical Processing Fluoropolymer FAQ

Which fluoropolymer is best for chemical processing?

There is no single best material. PTFE, PFA, FEP and PVDF differ in temperature capability, mechanical strength, fabrication, purity and permeability. Selection must use the complete service conditions.

How do temperature and concentration affect chemical compatibility?

Chemical-resistance tables are starting points. Higher temperature, concentration, stress and exposure time can change performance, so the actual combination should be reviewed.

Should I use PTFE or PVDF for a fabricated tank?

PTFE offers broader chemical inertness, while PVDF provides greater rigidity and weldability. Tank size, media, temperature, structural support, joining method and purity determine the practical choice.

Which information is needed for a PTFE gasket quotation?

Provide flange standard, dimensions, pressure class, media, temperature, gasket style, thickness, bolt condition, quantity and documentation requirements.

Can filled PTFE be used with aggressive chemicals?

Some filled grades are suitable, but the filler can change chemical, purity, wear and electrical behavior. Check both the PTFE matrix and filler against the application.

Can custom valve seats and pump parts be manufactured?

Yes. Send the drawing, material preference, media, temperature, pressure, motion, tolerances and inspection requirements for manufacturability review.
